This website contains the model simulation data used in the paper Fan et al. (2018), http://science.sciencemag.org/content/359/6374/411.long. The data are in NETCDF format and the temporal frequency is every 5-min. The sub-folders represent the simulations listed in Table 1 in the paper, and are described briefly as below,

C_BG: the simulation for the Manaus regional background with Na of 950 cm-3 (130 for CCN-size particles and 820 for UAP) near the surface.  

P3_BG: the simulation with the inclusion of the Manaus plume, i.e., the Na at the Manaus city is increased by three times based on C_BG.

C_PI: the simulation for the pre-industrial condition without UAP, i.e., it is based on C_BG, but with all UAP removed.

PL3_BG: Sensitivity test for P3_BG without UAP, i.e., it is based on P3_BG, but with all UAP removed.

C_BG_VD and C_PI_VD: the sensitivity tests with an observed vertical distribution based on C_BG and C_PI, respectively. 

C_BG_SD, P3_BG_SD, and C_PI_SD: the sensitivity tests with an observed size distribution.  

C_PI2: The pre-industrial condition with a small amount of UAP as observed from a remote site ATTO over the Amazon. 

C_PI_ATTO: the sensitivity test for C_PI with the mean CCN>50 observed from ATTO
C_BG_ATTO: the sensitivity test for C_BG with the mean CCN>50 observed from ATTO.
